How To: Feel in Control of Your Day

Racing from one thing to the next leaves educators exhausted and feeling “like the day got away.”

Good news: there is another way! We can recoup energy and set ourselves up for success when we transition from one thing to the next mindfully.

Here are three strategies for making mindful transitions:

  1. Breathe! Take 3 deep belly breaths with your eyes closed.

  2. Change location! Quick dance break in your car. Or a quiet moment in the bathroom.

  3. Eat! Pausing to slow down and enjoy a healthy snack can give you a boost. Healthy fats, nuts, fruit and veggies can help lower your stress levels when you take a mindful moment to enjoy them.

Being intentional, taking a pause and clearing our minds during transitions in our day can powerfully shift our overall energy levels. More mindfulness = less stress.
